Climbing Performance Workshop by Collin McGee, USA.

Understand. Test. Train Smarter.

This full-day workshop is designed for climbers and coaches who want to deepen their understanding of climbing performance, learn evidence-based assessment methods, and apply the results to build more effective training plans.

Part 1: Lecture (~1.5–2 hrs)

A clear, digestible introduction to the foundations of athletic development, tailored for climbers.
Includes:

  • Basic anatomy & physiology relevant to climbing performance
  • Key exercise principles behind strength, power, and endurance
  • Climbing-specific assessments: why we test, how we test, and what the results tell us
  • Training organization: What a structured plan looks like across a week, month, and year

Part 2: Finger & Strength Testing (~2–2.5 hrs)

Hands-on testing to benchmark your current level and understand your climbing strengths and weaknesses.
Testing includes:

  • Max Strength: Overhead and curl-based assessments
  • Contact Strength: Rate of Force Development (RFD) + Dynamic Strength Index (DSI)
  • Endurance: Fingerboard repeaters until % force loss
  • Power: Pull-ups with velocity-based feedback tools

Participants leave with their personal data and clear insights into what it means.

Part 3: Discussion & Training Application (~2+ hrs)

Turning numbers into action. This session helps you understand what to do next.
We’ll cover:

  • Whiteboarding your results and translating them into training priorities
  • Designing training sessions both on and off the wall (if a wall is available)
  • Group discussion, sample plan building, and final Q&A to cover your individual questions

What You’ll Get:

  • A clearer understanding of why and how to train
  • A detailed assessment of your current strengths and weaknesses
  • Practical tools to personalize your training
  • Templates and take-home material to support ongoing progress

Ideal for: Intermediate to advanced climbers, youth athletes, and coaches
Optional: Bring your own training logs or plans if you’d like feedback

Ticket: 190€ +entrance to the gym
